Obituary for Mary Alice (McDivitt) Rice
Funeral services have been set for Mary Alice (McDivitt) Rice, age 81, who passed away at her home early Monday morning. She was born November 28th, 1903 in Shawnee to Frank and Bertha McDivitt. On May 29, 1929, she was married to Dr. Roscoe Henry Rice and in 1938 they moved to Altus where Dr. Rice established his practice at 419 W. Broadway where he continues to serve his patients. Mrs. Rice was a very active member of the Altus First United Methodist Church for the past 46 years and was a long time member of the United Methodist Women, the Anne Lee Chapter of the D.A.R. and the Gladiola Unit of the Garden Club.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday afternoon at the Altus First United Methodist Church with the Reverend John Welch officiating and Larry Duffy in charge of special music. Burial will be in the Restlawn Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Funeral Home.

Survivors include: her husband, Dr. R.H. Rice of the home in Altus; one daughter, Mary Ruth Miles of Alta Loma, CA; two sons, Richard Rice of Parsons, KS and David Rice of Texarkana, TX. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

The Rice family has requested all memorial contributions be directed to the First United Methodist Memorial Fund in the name of Mary Alice Rice.
