Obituary for Mary Anita Butchee
Services for Charles and Anita Butchee have been scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 9, 1996 at the Lowell Tims Funeral Home Chapel. Ardron Hinton, J.W. Denham and Rockford Johnson will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Warren Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home. Mr. and Mrs. Butchee passed away at their home in Blair, Tuesday, February 6th, 1996, following lengthy illnesses. The family will receive visitors Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Lowell Tims Funeral Home. Contributions may be made in Charles and Anita's memory to the WOSC Foundation Dee Butchee Scholarship Endowment or to the Warren Cemetery fund.

Mary Anita Butchee was born December 11th, 1920 in Denver, Colorado to John Franklin and Ada Elizabeth (Barton) Pair. Having moved to the Altus area at a very young age, she had resided in Jackson County most of her life.

Charles and Anita were united in marriage on February 19, 1939 in Mangum, OK. They made their home in Warren, Oklahoma on the farm which his father had settled in 1895. Together they farmed the land that remained in the family for 101 years, until retirement in 1978 when they moved to Blair.

Mrs. Butchee was a member of the Warren Baptist Church for many years. She belonged to the Warren Homemakers Club, where she was very active in the County Fairs, winning many awards. She was named Jackson County Homemaker of the Year in 1991. She was also a member of the Blair Grandmother's Club. Anita worshipped her family and was deeply loved in return.

Mr. and Mrs. Butchee were preceded in death by both their mothers and fathers; one son, Charles Dee Butchee on March 5, 1994; Anita's brother, Edward Pair; and Charles' sister, Hazel Lollar.

They are survived by one son, John M. Butchee and his wife, Linda of Oklahoma City, OK; one daughter, Mary Jo Davis and her husband, Barry of Blair, Oklahoma; a daughter-in-law, Iverna Butchee of Blair; Anita's sister, Ruby Spencer of Abilene, TX; Charles' two sisters, Cleo B. Echols of Appleton, WI and Lois Southall of Blair; six grandchildren and their spouses, Charles R. and Teresa Butchee and John Dee and Dana Butchee, all of Blair, Sheryl and Troy Barnett and Lori and Steve McDonald, all of Oklahoma City, OK, Anita and Adolfo Martinez of Blair, and Tara and Johnny Walker of Biloxi, MS; seven great-grandchildren, Heath, Brodie, Dillon, Darren, Morgan, Mitchell and Tyler; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
