Obituary for Mary E. Charles
Mary Elizabeth Charles, age 56 of Altus, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, June 19, 1999 at Grace Living Center in Altus. She was born September 2, 1942 at Altus, Oklahoma to the late Edward Cotton and Elizabeth Cotton Fields.
Mary graduated from Lincoln High School in 1960. She was active member of the Lincoln High school Alumni. On February 14, 1972 she and James Charles were united in marriage. He preceded her in death in 1997.
She was a longtime member of the St. John's Baptist Church. Mary enjoyed being a homemaker for her family. She loved to iron clothes and bake her special pastries.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, June 26, 1999 at 2:00p at St. John's Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Bostic and Pastor De Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
Survivors include; daughter, Deridra Davis of Tampa , Florida, three grandchildren, Adrian Cotton of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Shania Davis and Shamia Davis both of Tampa, Florida; three nephews, Charles Cotton, Tyree Cotton, Demetrice Cotton all of Lawton, Oklahoma; two very special friends, Jeweline King and Illando Sawyer both of Altus, Oklahoma.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother and one sister.
