Obituary for Mary Lou Saindon
Mary Saindon, age 70, passed away Friday, December 9, 2005 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus, Oklahoma.
Mary was born on April 28, 1935 in El Paso, Texas to Edward and Francisca Day. She married Donald Saindon on August 12, 1950 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Mary was an active member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church where she was involved in several ministries. Mary was a Red Cross Volunteer, a former den mother to both the Boy and Girl Scouts and taught religious education at Prince of Peace. Mary was also one of the volunteers for the ACME House when it was opened in Altus. She was also one of the Regent for the local Chapter of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. There was nothing more important to Mary than her family, both the immediate and the extended family. She loved children and welcomed ass to her home. Her kindness and loved flowed throughout all of Altus. Mary was "Mom, Grandma, or Nana to all".
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, E.L. and Francisca Day, brothers, Raymond, Eddie, and Bobby Day. She is survived by her loving husband Donald Saindon, of 54 years; two sons, Michael and wife Jeannie of Florissant, Missouri, Pat and wife Dawn of Portage des Sioux, Missouri and two daughters, Frances
Morris and husband John of Swannanoa, North Carolina, Debbie Brzozowiski and husband Raymond of Altus; eleven grandchildren, Chris Morris and wife Nikia, Susan Padgett and husband Nathan, Anna, Darlene and Travina Saindon, Stephanie and Thomas Rady, Joel, Emily, Olivia and Evan Saindon; three great-grandchildren Chris Johnson-Morris, Jewlra Rady and Alexa Padgett; one sister Helen Vellios and husband George of Palmadale, California.
A Prayer Vigil will be held at 7:00 pm, Sunday, December 11, 2005 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Altus. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 am Monday, December 12, 2005 at Prince of peace Catholic church with Father Joe Arledge officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus.
The family of Mary Saindon will greet friends at Lowell-Tims Funeral Hone from 2 until 4 pm, Sunday, December 11, 2005.
