Obituary for Mateo V. Baeza
Mateo V. Baeza , age 74 of Altus, passed away on Wednesday, October 25th, 2006, at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City.
Mr. Baeza was born on September 21st, 1932, in Mexico to Tiofilo and Felicitas (Vaeriano) Baeza. In 1952, he married his wife, Patricia, and they spent forty-eight wonderful years together before her death in 2000. Moving to the Altus area in 1969, Mateo farmed and worked in the agriculture business until his death. Known for his hard work, Mateo was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two sons, Esmundo and Artemio and one daughter, Fransisca, Mateo is survived by nine children, Armando Baeza of Mexico, Eddie Baeza and wife Victoria of Dumas, Texas, Elodia DelaCruz of Norman, Oklahoma, Hortencia (Tisha) Crowder, of Kingfisher, Oklahoma, Gracie Martinez and husband Raul of Altus, Delia Jackson of Wichita, Kansas, Robert Baeza and wife Dori of Amarillo, Texas, Israel Baeza and wife Barbara of Amarillo, Texas and Jose (Freddie) Baeza of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Petra Avila and husband Juan of Mexico and Lilia Rodriguez of Andrews, Texas; three brothers, Urbano Baeza and wife Jesus of Mexico; sixteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces other relatives and friends.
A wake for Mateo V. Baeza will be held at Lowell Tims Funeral Home at 7 p.m. on Friday, October 27, 2006. Funeral services will be Saturday, at Lowell Tims Funeral Home Chapel at 4 p.m. with Rev. Federico Pena officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home of Altus.
