Obituary for Matthew Jay Wilson

Matthew Jay Wilson, age 53, of Altus, passed away early Monday morning, May 13, 2013, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.
Matt was born in Altus, Oklahoma on August 19, 1959 to Weldon "Windy" Grant and Margaret (Hoagland) Wilson. He attended Wilson Elementary and Northeast Junior High before graduating from Altus High School, in 1978. A hard worker all of his life, Matt immediately went to work with his family at Allied Van Company, later he spent time working in the oil fields before returning to Allied. For a while, Matt farmed with Wylie Felty and lastly, driving a bus for Altus School and serving as a school custodian at Altus Middle School and Rivers Elementary. In 2005, Matt"s health began to fail and he was forced to leave the job where he was loved, working with children.
Preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jerry Adelman, he is survived by one son, Nick Morris and wife Cassandra of Tipton;One granddaughter, Kaylee-Jo Morris of Tipton. three sisters, Debbie Pomisino and husband Darrell of Taft, California, Betty Wilson and husband U.S. Wilson of Taft, California and Donna Brown of Marine City, Michigan; one sister-in-law, Pat Adelman of St. Louis, Missouri along with many other relatives and friends.
Memorial services for Matt Wilson will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Erin Martinez officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
