Mattie Alma Chenault, 85, died Tuesday at the Quanah Memorial Hospital. Services are scheduled for Thursday at 2:00 pm in the Corinth Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Henry McBrayer. Burial will be in Eldorado Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Chenault was born the daughter of William Walter Helms and Mary Elizabeth Robinson on February 8, 1905 in Eldorado, Oklahoma. She married James Clyde Chenault April 19, 1922 in Bethel, Oklahoma. She was member of the Corinth Baptist church northwest of Eldorado, and had been a life time resident of Eldorado, Oklahoma.
Survivors include children, James Louis Chenault, Duncan, Oklahoma; William Lonnie Chenault, Eldorado, Oklahoma; Lela Ruth Harvick, Yuma, Arizona; Betty Jean Isaacks, Levelland, Texas; Billie Olene Weede, Quanah, Texas; sisters, Lavesta Waller, Eldorado, Oklahoma; Esta Bates, Eldorado, Oklahoma; Effie Corley, Slaton, Texas; Para Livingston, Eldorado, Oklahoma; Sixteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren, one great great-grandchild.
Mrs. Chenault was preceded in death by her husband, James Clyde Chenault 1975, Willie Helms, brother, Zeph Cardwell Hems, brother.
