Obituary for Maude Ethel Barnes
Mrs. Maude Ethel Barnes, age 87, East of Altus, died March 18, 1977 at the Norman Municipal Hospital of an apparent heart attack.
Funeral services have been set for 1:00 P.M., Monday, March 21, 1977 at the First Baptist Church in Altus with the Reverend Keith Wiginton officiating. Burial will be in Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Tims Funeral Home.
Born June 6th, 1889 at Murfreesboro, Tennessee, she was preceded in death by her husband Al, in February 1951. She was a long time resident of Altus and a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include: four daughters, Thelma Lee Seay of Bakersfield, CA, Marie Stallings of Altus, Fay Appling of Salinas, KS, and Lois Wagner of Altus; two sons, Lester Bootie Barnes of Oklahoma City, OK and Walter Barnes of Elk Grove, CA; 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
