Melba Claudene Patterson, age 78, of Altus, passed away, Monday evening, June 26, 2017, at her residence, in Altus.
Mrs. Patterson was born in Blackjack, Oklahoma on May 7, 1939, to Athny Elmo and Ruby Pauline (Roberts) Parker. On February 8, 1990, she married Buddy Patterson and they spent twenty-five wonderful years together before his death on April 19, 2015. Claudene will always be remembered for having a beautiful yard with flowers and being a fantastic hostess and entertainer, opening her home for many get-togethers throughout the years.
Preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one brother, Gary Parker, she is survived by three children, Bren Jackson and husband John C. of Quanah, Texas, Michael N. Patterson and wife Jessie of Headrick and Melanie McGlone and Stan Smith of Yukon; six grandchildren, Jamie Chapman and husband Layne, Della Patterson, Mariah Patterson, Melena McElveny and Kevin, Preston Romines and Rachel Romines; nine great grandchildren, one sister, Carol Arnold and husband Don of Stratford, Oklahoma and one brother, Tony Parker and wife Molly of McAlester, Oklahoma.
The family of Claudene Patterson will greet friends at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home on Thursday, June 29, 2017, from 9 until 9:45 a.m. At 10 a.m., a Graveside Celebration will be held at Altus Cemetery, following the visitation, with Rev. Erin Martinez officiating. Services are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home, of Altus.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to Jackson County Memorial Hospital Hospice, 1204 E. Tamarack Rd., Altus, OK 73521
