Obituary for Melvin A. Busby
Melvin A. Busby, "Buzz" of Altus, Oklahoma, died Monday, March 30th, 1998 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services are set for Thursday, April 2, 1998 at 2:00 p.m. at First Assembly of God Church at 1400 Falcon Road with Reverend Richard Ventonis officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
Buzz was born September 6th, 1926, in Altus, Oklahoma to William T. Busby and Rosa Mae (James) Busby. He married Veta Bearden on February 15, 1955 in Altus. Buzz served in WWII in the Corps of Engineers and owned and operated Altus Cab Company and Mel's Pawn Shop for over 40 years.
Buzz is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Velma Busby.
Survivors include: his wife, Veta, of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Johnny Morrison; a daughter, Linda Hall; and a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Kathy Busby; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, W.T. Busby; and four sisters, Lucille Daniel, Bonnie Elliott, Oleta Hatton and Vonita Douglas.
