Meryl June Page, age 87, a longtime resident of Hollis, passed away early Monday morning, June 20, 2016 at Harmon Memorial Hospital in Hollis with her family at her side.
Meryl was born in Chickasha, Oklahoma on June 29, 1928 to her parents William Marion Cast and Hazel Opal (Rives) Cast. Meryl grew up in California and Oklahoma and that is when the Cast family and the Page families had settled in Hollis for farming cotton crops which brought Meryl Cast and Bill Page together. They were married on June 10, 1960 in Childress, Texas and they raised their family in Hollis and enjoyed over 54 years of marriage before Bill"s death in 2014. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Hollis and worked for the Hollis Public Schools for many years. Meryl enjoyed sewing, working with crafts, cooking, going to garage sales, but most of all she enjoyed time spent with her family and grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband Bill; three brothers, Jackie, Ronald, and Billy Cast; one grandson, Marcus Kane Worthen; two great grandchildren, Christopher Theademan and Tatum Cole Taylor; Meryl is survived by one son, Steven Lynn Page of Hollis; two daughters, Terri Jean Ketchum of Hollis; and Tammy June Worthen and her husband Monty of Hollis; one brother, Freddy Cast and wife June of Childress, Texas; one sister, Mickie Taylor of Sayre, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Justin Theademan and his wife Felicia of Hollis; Kayla Taylor and her husband Aaron of Hollis; Katelyn Elizabeth Worthen of Hollis; and Jacob Dylan Page of Hollis; three great grandchildren, Joshua Lane Theademan, Kaedynce LeAnn Theademan, and Charlie Grace Taylor; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and many friends.
The family will greet friends for visitation from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm, Tuesday evening, June 21, 2016 at Harmon County Funeral Home in Hollis.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 am, Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at the Church of the Nazarene in Hollis.
Interment will follow at Fairmont Cemetery under the direction of Harmon County Funeral Home of Hollis.
