Methaphon "Jeff" Thawinitkul, a resident of Altus, Oklahoma and former resident of Hollis, Oklahoma passed away on January 4th, 2024, in Altus, Oklahoma.
On September 1, 2000, in Si Racha, Thailand the Thawinikul family rejoiced and celebrated at the birth of their baby boy, Methaphon Thawinitkul. Jeff lived the first three years of his life in Thailand, before his mother, Chuleeporn Thawinitkul, married David Seigrist and the young family relocated to Okinawa before making their home in Southwest, Oklahoma. Jeff was raised in Hollis, Oklahoma and attended Hollis Public Schools, where he graduated with the class of 2019. During his time in high school, Jeff lettered in both football as the starting running back, and the track and field team as a pole vaulter. Jeff was a four-time state qualifier and two-time regional champion in pole vaulting. He still currently holds the Hollis High School record in the pole vault. Upon graduation from Hollis High School Jeff was awarded a full scholarship to Crowley Community College in Arkansas City, Kansas where he competed in pole vaulting for two years on the track and field team.
Jeff was always a hard-working young man, he started working as a lifeguard for the Hollis public pool, then worked as a waiter at the boomerang in Hollis, and as a waiter at other restaurants while working on his pilot’s license before coming back to Altus and working at Freds Steak house while preparing to continue his flying lessons this Spring. But his favorite job was working with his best friend as a farm hand for Randy Scott Farms in McQueen, Oklahoma. Another big facet of Jeff’s life was in his dedication to Jesus Christ. He was raised and baptized in the Church of Christ in Dodson, and also attended the Vinson Church of Christ. Growing up he loved attending Wednesday night Youth at the First Baptist Church and always enjoyed worshiping with his friends. Jeff was a kindhearted young man, who really enjoyed working out, playing sports but most of all he relished the time spent with his friends and family. He was always helping others and had a gentle spirit. Jeff had an ability to draw others to him with his smile and contagious laughter.
Jeff leaves a legacy of love and devotion to his family, his friends, and to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Receiving him at the gates of heaven were his maternal grandparents, Qloun and Kosoom Thawinitkul; paternal grandparents, Earl and Chiquita Seigrist; his uncle, Thu Thawinitkul; and two brothers, Ethan and Joshua Seigrist.
Left to honor Jeff's legacy are his mother, Chuleeporn Thawinitkul Seigrist; father, David Seigrist; brothers, J.J. Thawinitkul, Alex Seigrist, and his wife Lydia.
