Obituary for Mickey LaJune Caswell
Mickey Caswell, age 78, a longtime resident of Hollis, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at Harmon Memorial Hospital in Hollis.
Mickey was born in Hollis on March 13, 1935 to Forrest and Doris (Brock) Trammell. On November 14, 1953, Mickey married Gale Caswell in Hollis and they were married for over 60 years before her death. In 1967, they moved to Frederick, Oklahoma where they made their home until they returned to Hollis in 1978. Mickey was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hollis. She and Gale owned and operated Caswell"s Food Center along with their farming and ranching interests. She liked participating in community activities like the Lady's Home Demonstration Club, the county fair and La Casa High School reunions. Mickey was a talented seamstress who enjoyed quilting, cooking, square dancing and spending time with friends and family.
Preceded in death by her parents, Forrest and Doris Trammell; one brother-in-law, Don Clement; Mickey is survived by her husband Gale Caswell of the home; one son, Eddie Caswell of Dallas, Texas; one daughter, Tammy Hicks and her husband, Scott of Southaven, Mississippi; one sister, Patsy Clement of Hollis; one sister-in-law, Doris Patterson of Newkirk, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Cole Morgan and his wife Kristen of Mississippi; Ty Davis of Tennessee; Grant Davis of Mississippi; Abby Hicks of Mississippi; two great grandchildren, Cameron and Rylee; her aunt, Maurine Ballard of Duke; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 5:30 pm, Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Harmon County Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 2:30 pm, Sunday, February 9, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Hollis with John Cox officiating. Interment will follow at Fairmount Cemetery under the direction of Harmon County Funeral Home.
