Mildred Carrick Scott
Mildred Scott, 98 of Hollis passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at Harmon Memorial Hospital in Hollis.
Mid was born June 30, 1919, in Harmon County, Oklahoma to Frank and Sallie (Little) Carrick. She married J.R. (Judge) Scott, February 14, 1938, in Mangum, Oklahoma. They had one son, Tommy Lynn Scott, on August 24, 1939, and he was the light of her life.
Mid lived and worked in Harmon County where she helped on the farm and worked as a cashier at several Hollis businesses. Mid loved to crochet and made afghans for all of her family and friends. She also loved the Oklahoma City Thunder and watched their games on T.V. every time they played. Mid was always there for people and loved cooking and caring for others. She was a perfect example of a Christian servant. She was a devoted member of the First Methodist Church in Hollis.
Mid was preceded in death by her parents, her nine siblings, husband, J.R. Scott and son, Tommy Scott. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Frances Scott, one grandson, Travis Scott both of Edmond, Oklahoma, granddaughters Tish Marshall and husband Steve of Oklahoma City, Angela Stapleton and husband Scott of Newcastle, Oklahoma, step-granddaughter, Jennifer Lee Sirera of Oklahoma City, great- grandsons, Grant Marshall and Stone Stapleton, great-granddaughter Eva Sirera and a host of very special nieces and nephews who helped with her care in the last few years of her life.
Funeral Services for Mildred Scott will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 22, 2018 at Dryden Church in Harmon County, Oklahoma. Interment will follow in the Dryden Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Harmon County Funeral Home of Hollis.
