Milton Cecil Johnson, age 84, of Altus, passed away Friday, December 16, 2016, at his residence, in Altus.
Mr. Johnson was born in Marlin, Texas on December 5, 1932, to Marvin and Mary (Paul) Johnson. Mr. Johnson attended Booker T. Washington in Marlin. Shortly after graduation from high school, he joined the United States Air Force, where he proudly served his country from June 6, 1952 until May 5, 1960, when he retired at Altus Air Force Base. Shortly after his discharge, he began a thirty-five and one half year job with Civil Service at Altus Air Force Base, retiring in 1994, as an Inspector. In his spare time and during his retirement, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and attending and working at his church, Macedonia Baptist Church. A very humble man and kind to everyone, Milton Johnson was a man of God.
Preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, James Johnson, Alvern Johnson and one sister, Mary Thompson, he is survived by two sisters, Paralee Williams and husband Leroy of Ft. Worth, Texas and Para Nell Hurd of Ft. Worth, Texas along with many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Milton Johnson will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, December 22, 2016, at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Veterans Section at Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home, of Altus.
