Miriam Joyce "Sis" Ware, age 92, of Hess, passed away at her residence, Friday morning, April 25, 2014.
Mrs. Ware was born on the family farm, south of Hess, on December 15, 1921, to William Jesse and Maggie Mae (Gillis) Ware. Growing up on the farm, she attended Hess School and worked on the farm most of her life pulling bolls and picking cotton. For a short time, Miriam worked at Jones Grocery Store, in Hess also. A hard worker all of her life, Miriam enjoyed working in her garden, cooking and in her later years, playing bingo.
Preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Lelia Ware and Marie Dollins; four brothers, Nathan (Dob) Ware, Luther D. (Lit) Ware, Buddy Ware and Alvin Ware and her daughter-in-law, Rhonda Ware, she is survived by one son, Elton (Pitt) Ware of Hess; two grandchildren, Todd Ware and wife Tonya of Altus and Michelle Ware of Oklahoma City; two great granddaughters, Destiny Ware and Emelie Ware; two special nieces, Nelda Smith of Harmon, Oklahoma and Diane Fletcher of Globe, Arizona along with many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services for Miriam Ware will be at 2 p.m., Monday, April 28, 2014, at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Rick Crouch officiating. Interment will follow at the Hess Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
