Murph Ellis Rogers age 84, of Altus, Oklahoma died September 13, 1967 at Memorial Hospital in Altus. Murph was born January 27, 1883 in Brushy Creek, Texas to Tom and Mary (Elrod) Rogers. He married Maude Flowers March 8, 1908 in Altus, Oklahoma.
Murph came to southwest Oklahoma in 1906. He owned and operated a Dry Good and Furniture Store. Murph was a member of the Chamber of Commerce, Woodman of the World and Oddfellow.
Services for Murph Ellis Rogers are scheduled for Friday, September 15, 1967 at 10 am at the Elm & Hudson Church of Christ, Altus, officiated by Foyie Wallace. Interment will follow in the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Tims Funeral Home.
Murph Ellis Rogers is survived by his wife, Maude of the home; one son Thomas E. Rogers, Grand Prairie, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. Curtis Nation, Altus, Oklahoma; Mrs. Martin Burson, Kansas City, Kansas; six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, two brothers, Fred Rogers, Texas; Clint Rogers, Texas.
