Myra A. Phillips




Myra A. Phillips passed away Sunday, April 30, 2000, at Grace Living Center in Altus, Oklahoma, at the age of 91.

Myra was born February 25, 1909, in Olustee, Oklahoma to Charlie Bird Hensley and Nora Ada (Germany) Hensley. She married Phillip H. Phillips, Sr. in 1925 in Vernon, Texas. The lived in Olustee, Oklahoma until 1941 when they moved to Altus. Even though she did not work outside the home, she was a beloved wife and excellent seamstress for her daughter and grandchildren for many years. Myra was a member of the Church of Christ.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Joy Phillips, of Altus; four grandchildren, Phillis and John Findley of Bakersfield, California, Vickie and Bill Kline of Hobart, Oklahoma, Sherrie and Joe Don Reaser of Altus and Phillip and Kaitlyn Phillips of Maryland. She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, her husband, Phil Phillips,
Sr. in 1975, one daughter Myra Sue Phillips in 1982, one son, Phil Philloips, Jr. in 1992 and grandson, Jay Don Phillips in 1974, and a great-grandson, Kevin Reaser in 1990.

Graveside Services will be held 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2000, at the Altus City Cemetery with Bill Osborne officiating. Services are under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
