Obituary for Myrtie Extelyne Lumpkin
LUMPKIN

Myrtie Extelyne "Bean" Lumpkin, age 82, of Dimmitt, Texas, formerly of Greer and Harmon Counties, Oklahoma, passed away at Northwest Texas Medical Center, in Amarillo, Texas on Friday, November 28, 2014.

Mrs. Lumpkin was born in Greer County, near the Wildcat Community, on April 30, 1932, to Guy and Martha (Cole) Ellington. After attending Wildcat and Centralvue Schools, Extelyne married Everett Lumpkin, in Wellington, Texas, on August 29, 1949, and they enjoyed thirty wonderful years together before his death on August 2, 1979. After their marriage, they moved to Hollis where Everett worked as a butane mechanic for Tri-County Butane. In 1964, they moved to Dimmitt where Extelyne lived until her death. Extelyne loved reading, T.V. movies and spending time with family and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents; her husband and two sisters, Cleo Holloman and Oma Brawley, she is survived by three children, Debbie Broadstreet of Clovis, California, Jimmy Lumpkin of Clovis, California and Judy Reese and husband Richard of Littlefield, Texas; one sister, Laverne Joiner and husband Tom of Oklahoma City; six grandchildren, Shelly Broadstreet, Danny Lumpkin, Katherine Hite, Christopher Lumpkin, Corrinne Bodine and Jessica Long along with many great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Extelyne Lumpkin will be at 1 p.m., Thursday, December 4, 2014, at Greer Funeral Home Chapel with Monte Lumpkin officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Greer Funeral Home of Mangum.
