Obituary for Ned Thomas
Mr. Ned Thomas, age 76, prominent and long time resident of 505 N. Spurgeon, died Saturday afternoon of an apparent heart attack.
Funeral services have been set for Tuesday, 10:00 A.M., at the First United Methodist Church, officiated by Dr. Wilford Jones and assisted by the Reverend C. C. Gober. Burial will be in Restlawn Cemetery under direction of Lowell Funeral Home.
Born October 15, 1896 at Gary, Texas, he was married in 1922 at Blair to the former Winnie Jones, who survives. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, was for 17 years the Church Treasurer and on the Board, was retired after 43 years as accountant with Leger Mills, served 25 years as treasurer of the Altus Country Club, a charter member of the Lions Club, a Mason, Veteran of WWI and a member of the American Legion.
Additional survivors include: two sons, John Carl of Golden, CO and Charles Randall of Beaumont, Texas; four sisters, Mrs. Maude Ellington of Altus, Mrs. Ora House of Mangum, Mrs. Pearl Ridley of Oklahoma City and Mrs. Laura Turner of Fairland, OK; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
The family requests contributions to any Medical Research in lieu of flowers.
