Obituary for Nellie Thompson Hixon
Funeral services have been set for Mrs. Nellie Thompson Hixon, age 86, of Elmer, who died Saturday, September 14th in a local nursing home. She was born February 14th, 1882and she has been a long time resident of Jackson County and had been in ill health for a long time. She was married to Manuel A. Hixson in 1905 who preceded her in death in February 1967.

Survivors include: one son, Ray of Ft. Worth, TX; two daughters, Mrs. Lola McElroy of Elmer and Mrs. Dessie Paxton of Lancaster, CA; one brother, Ben Thompson of Clebourne, Texas; one sister, Mrs. Edna Hathcock of Ft. Worth, TX; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren.

Services have been set for 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 17th, at the First United Methodist Church in Elmer, officiated by the Reverend Howard Roberts of Olustee. Burial will be in the Hess Cemetery under direction of Lowell Funeral Home.
