Obituary for Nellie Verrell Thomas
Nellie Thomas, age 81 and formerly of Altus, Oklahoma, passed away May 24, 2002 at the Woodhaven Nursing Home in Sulphur Springs, Texas. Graveside Services, under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home in Altus, are set for 1:00 p.m., Sunday, May 26, 2002 at the Altus City Cemetery. Sonny Tims will officiate.

Nellie was born at Bogota, Texas on August 31, 1920 to parents Thomas Henry Harrod and Lillie Francis (Walton) Harrod. She was united in marriage to Harold Thomas on June 17, 1946 at Altus, Oklahoma. They resided in the Altus area and attended the First Baptist Church of Altus.

Nellie was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; son, Tommy Thomas and her parents.

She is survived by two daughters, Helen Boone of Altus, Oklahoma and Linda Butler of Ohio. She is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends.
