Noel was born November 25, 1914, in Charleston, Texas, to Curtis White George and Dovie (Clark)/George. He was a minister most of his life, serving Humphries Baptist Church, in Humphries, Oklahoma, Prairie Hill Baptist Church, Duke, Oklahoma, Headrick Baptist Church, Headrick, Oklahoma, Southside Baptist Church, Southside, Oklahoma, Lewis Hill Baptist Church, Manitou Baptist, Manitou, Oklahoma, Trinity Baptist Church, Altus, Oklahoma finishing his career at Prairie Hill in Duke, Oklahoma. Noel lived and raised cattle and horses in the Olustee, Oklahoma area where he also farmed.
Preceded in death by his parents, Curtis White George and wife Dovie, first wife Norma Lou George, one son Ronald Don George, second wife, Marie George, two brothers; Paul George, Dwayne George; three sister; Audrey Fry, Bonnie Bidwell, June Herd.
Noel is survived by his children daughter; Joy George Zitterkob, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, two sons; Goebel George and wife Sally of Altus, Oklahoma, Mark George and wife Christie of Altus, Oklahoma; grandchildren Gregory George Zitterkob, Blane and Sandy George, Amanda George, Drew and Kelli George and daughter Jacey, Brady George, Tyler George, Garret George, Colby George, and Trace George.
Memorials tributes may be made in Noel George's name to the Emmanuel Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 23, from 6:30 to 7:30 P.M. at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
Funeral services for Noel George will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 24, 2010, at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Altus with Rev. Boyd Whitehead officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
