Obituary for Norma Mourine Byrum
Norma Maurine (Pomroy) Byrum, age 85, longtime Altus, Oklahoma resident, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus, Oklahoma.
Norma was born in Altus on October 26, 1934 to her parents Henry and Clara Pomroy. Norma was raised in Altus and she was a proud graduate from Altus High School. Throughout the years she worked at Central Pharmacy and Johnnie's Steakhouse in Altus but most people know her from working at the Friendship Inn many years. Norma took a temporary hiatus from Altus with a traveling carnival and she soon realized there’s no place like home and went back to Altus. She loved cooking for everyone and when Norma smiled her eyes smiled too. She was a good-hearted woman and it was truly an honor to know her. Rest with the angels sweet Norma.
