Obituary for Norma Ruth Taylor
Norma Taylor, 74, of Altus, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2008, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.
Norma was born March 23, 1934, in Altus, to William Ward and Anna V. (Glidewell) Burden. She graduated from Altus High School in 1952 and later attended college. She married Max E. Cade and together they had three children, Dan, Sherri and Tammi. She later married Seth Taylor and he preceded her in death.
Norma moved to Florida in the late 1960's and lived there for ten years before coming home to Altus in 1972. She worked at the Blair Gin as a bookkeeper during the 1970's. She later worked at the Altus Air Force Base as a secretary for the Civil Service. Norma's hobbies included shopping, especially for jewelry, and she had a great fondness for Braum's cheeseburgers. She and her sister, Francis Jean, loved painting and decorating together. Norma was a member of the First Baptist Church in Altus.
She is survived by one son, Dan Cade and wife Donna of Plant City, Florida; two daughters, Sherri Jones of Tampa, Florida and Tammi taylor of Paces Ferry, Arkansas; six grandchildren, John Christopher Jones, Brian Matthew Jones Kristin Michelle Hancock, Stephanie Danielle Hoehne, Lasha Harden, and Seth DAvid Harden; two step-grandchildren, Leah Glover and Kevin Smith; four great-grandchildren, Jackson Jones, Jillian Jones, Hayley Harden and Jayden Harden; and four step-grandchildren, Garrett Newbaum, Shaelyn Newbaum, Taylor Smith, and Keegan Smith. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Max Cade and Seth Taylor; two brothers, Ceder Tom Burden and Billy Burden; and two sisters, Mary Hurst and Francis Jean Freeman.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 15, 2008, at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home with David Stewart officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Cemetery in Altus under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
