Norma Sue McLean, age 60 of Altus, died at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital Thursday following a lengthy illness. Funeral services were held at 10:00 am Monday, August 11, 2003 at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Marty Barnes. Burial followed at the Sayre-Doxie Cemetery at 2:00pm under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Born November 9, 1942 at Geary,Oklahoma, she was the daughter of O.V. and Wanda Williams Cranfill. She graduated from Greenfield High School in 1960. She attended Southwestern State College in Weatherford, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Education in 1964 and later with a Master's Degree in Education. Norma married Ronnie L. McLean August 5, 1967 at Greenfield, Oklahoma. After completing her Masters Degree taught at Cheyenne for 3 years, Bessie for 2, and retired from the Altus Public School system after 26 years. She was a member of the Highland Heights United Methodist Church and was active in the Oklahoma Education Association, National Education Association, and united Methodist Women. Norma enjoyed working with arts & crafts, painting, softball, and especially children.

Survivors include; her husband Ronnie McLean of Altus. Father; O.V. Cranfill of watonga, OK. mother-in-law; Virginia McLean of Sayer, OK. sisters; Carol Goodin and her husband Jimmie of Eldorado, glenda DeSpain and her husband Mel of Watonga, OK, Jean Kamphaus and her husband Chris of Canute, Ok. Joan Heiner and her husband Stormy of Okarche, OK; sister-in-law Judy Kay of Oklahoma City and Jimmye Real of Houston, Tx. Also surviving are five nephews, six nieces, and eleven great neices and nephews.

She was preceded n death by her mother Wanda Cranfill and father-in-law Dud McLean.
