Obituary for Nova Faye Peretto
Nova Faye Peretto, age 81, long time resident of Olustee, passed away Monday, February 28, 2005. Services have been scheduled for 2:00 pm Wednesday, March 2, 2005, at the Prairie Hill Baptist Church with Reverend Ronnie Chadwick officiating. Interment will follow in the Olustee Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
Nova was born October 29, 1923, in Olustee, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Henry and Vera (Billington) Rosser. Her family moved to Houma, Louisiana where she graduated high school in 1941. On March 8, 1943, Nova and Walter Peretto were united in marriage at Baton Rouge Louisiana. She moved back to Olustee, Oklahoma in 1960 where she raised four children.
Nova was a faithful, devoted member of the Prairie Hill Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and was an avid reader, but her greatest love and enjoyment came from her children and grandchildren. She owned and operated her own book store. "The Book Shelf" and also sold Sarah Coventry Jewelry for many years. Nova was a wonderful, active individual and will be deeply missed by the many who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter; and by one grandson, terry Blakley, one brother, Curtis Rosser, one sister, Lena belle Briggs, one son Glen Mark Peretto and one infant daughter, Glenda, and one special aunt, Estelle Bacon.
Nova is lovingly survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Terry Blakey of Santo, Texas, Patricia and Earnest Courture of Olustee, Oklahoma and
Sue and Roger Allen, also of Olustee, one son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Darlena Peretto of Duke, Oklahoma; one sister, Marjorie Stuart of Magnolia, Arkansas; two brothers, John Rosser of Lake Elmore, California and Noel Rosser of Moore, Oklahoma; one sister-in-law, Linda Rosser of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Joe and Krystal Blakley, Kelly and John Lewis, Gina and Jerald Williams, Ryan Courture, Matthew Adams, Daniel and Brandi Adams, Sarah Adams, Brandi and Jeff Gobeille, Beau Allen, Shaunna and Wayne Machtoiff, Paul Lamb, Michelle Peretto and Cody Peretto; and thirteen great grandchildren and another great-grandchild expected soon.
