Obituary for Octavia Lawana Kelly
Octavia Lawana Kelly, age 86, of Apache Junction, Arizona passed away early Wednesday morning, November 9, 2011, at Banner Baywood Medical Center in Mesa, Arizona.
Mrs. Kelly was born on July 10, 1925, in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Odie Corbett and Alice Jane (Hepler) Atchley. She attended Gould High School. At 12 years of age her Prince Foy Robert Kelly came along and they were married on December 5, 1942. In 1943 her little Prince Odie Wayland was born and in 1951 she was blessed with a baby daughter Alice Waunetta. The family resided at 1501 Missouri Street, in Mangum, Oklahoma for some years. Octavia belonged to the Eastern Star at Gould and Mangum for many years. She was a member of the Mangum Church of Christ. In 1956, she and her family moved to San Manuel, Arizona where she lived for 29 years. In her retirement years, she claimed Apache Junction, Arizona as her home for about 25 years
Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Foy; two brothers, Lathel Corbet Atchley and Carthel Calvin (Slim) Atchley; one sister, Ester Cleona Atchley and a niece, Naomi Beaver, she is survived by one daughter, Alice Wanetta Wilson of Apache Junction, Arizona; one son, Odie Kelly of Poway, California; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; one sister, Genevia Jeune Atchley Warren, of Mangum; nieces and nephews, Diana Lyle of Eunice, New Mexico, Dwayne Atchley of Branson, Missouri and Lynn Atchley of Pennsylvania along with many other family members and friends.
Graveside services for Octavia Kelly will be at 11 a.m., Friday, November 18, 2011, at Roselawn Cemetery with Jerry Don Henry officiating. Services are under the direction of Greer Funeral Home of Mangum.
