Obituary for Oleta Kelly
Oleta Rudd Kelly, age 91, of Altus passed away Friday, December 16, 2011 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.

She was born November 2, 1920 to Clarence and Winnie Rudd in Greenville, Texas. She graduated from high school in 1938; graduated from Texas Women's University in 1941; completed one year internship at University of Washington in Seattle, Washington 1942. Oleta married J.T. Kelly October 14, 1942. She was the head dietician at Baylor Medical in Dallas, Texas for 15 years and dietician at Buckner Baptist Benevolences in Dallas for 15 years. She was a 50 year member of the American Dietetic Oleta Kelly

Oleta loved all sports, especially the Mavericks, Dallas Cowboys, and Texas Rangers. She enjoyed visiting with friends and family, playing 42, visiting nursing homes, and attending church. She also loved to travel, and was an avid water skier.

Oleta was preceded in death by her husband J.T. Kelly and a daughter Mary Gayle Kelly. She is survived by one son, Joe Kelly and wife Kris of Altus, Oklahoma; one daugher, Betty Doty and husband John of Stuart, Florida; seven grandchildren, Lesli Kelly and Chad Kelly of Altus, Oklahoma, Jonathan Kelly of Sublette, Kansas, Jerri Kelly of San Diego, California, Christopher Doty of Port Lucie, Florida, Andrea Rachal of Phoenix, Arizona, and Breana Miller of Louisville, Kentucky; three great grandchildren; her beloved dog Casey; and many friends.

A memorial service will be scheduled for a later date in Texas. Lowell-Tims Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
