Obituary for Opal Austin
Opal Austin age 87 of Altus, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, September 14, 1997 at the Jackson County Memorial. Opal was born September 14, 1910 at Altus, Oklahoma to the late D.R. Steves and Evy (Williams) Steves. She was a lifelong resident of Jackson County. She and Jack Weddle were united in marriage, he preceded her in death October 1984. Opal worked with the soil Conservation Services Office as a area Clerk Supervisior for over 32 years. She was a member of the first United Methodist Church of Altus.

funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, September 16, 1997 at 10:00 am in the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ken Pate officiating. Burial will follow in the Restlawn Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Survivors include children Dennis Weddle of Altus and Jackie Lynn Weddle and Mary of Springhill, LA.; three grandchildren two great-grandchildren.


Preceded in death by parents, 1 sis-Loise McWaters husband-Jack Weddle in 1969, husband William Austin in 1984.
