Obituary for Ora Jerrilyne (Jerry) Adams
Jerry Ross Adams of San Angelo, Texas died July 23, 2002. Graveside services to be held in Martha, Oklahoma Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2002, with John Peck of Plainview, Texas, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
She was born in Marietta, Oklahoma to Jerry and Ida Ross on December 11, 1912. She was a former resident of Altus, OK and Martha, OK, graduating from Martha High School.
She and Hughie Adams were married in Minneapolis, Minnesota on August 5, 1943. He passed away on September 14, 1991. She worked as a sales clerk for J. C. Penney for many years, both in Altus and Plainview, Texas. She and her husband moved to Plainview in 1960 where he was Coronado Band Director and she was school secretary for the Plainview Public Schools for 16 years. She was a member of the First Methodist Church in San Angelo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, Rev. Grady Ross, Denver Ross and J. B. Ross, Jr.; two sisters, Hazel Hughen and Jo Alma Freno; a son-in-law, David Fennell.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Jo Fennel of San Angelo, Texas and a grandson, Chris Fennell of Plano, Texas and four nephews.
