Obituary for Orla Paul Powers
Orla Paul Powers, age 77, of Eldorado, died Tuesday morning at the English Village Nursing Home after a long illness.

Services will be held Thursday morning, August 18th 1988 at 10:30 A.M. at the Eldorado First United Methodist Church with the Reverend Jimmy Jones, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the Eldorado Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Funeral Home.

Powers was born July 16th, 1911 in Watongs, OK and was united in marriage to Melrose Walker on October 9, 1947. Mr. Powers was in the insurance business for many years in Amarillo, TX and San Angelo, TX. He moved back to Watonga where he farmed his family's homestead for several years. He retired and moved to Eldorado in 1985.

Survivors include: his wife, Melrose Powers of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Shirley Phillips of the home and Mrs. Wanda Garrett and Son-in-law, Henry Garrett of Amarillo, TX; four grandchildren, including Paul Phillips of the home; four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Powers; one brother, Olen Powers, all of Watonga.
