Obituary for Otis Dee Allen
Otis Dee Allen, 98, of Altus, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, October 16, 1999. He was born July $, 1901 in Globe, Texas, to Joel W. and Lillie Mae Allen.

Otis married Ophia McMennamy November 6, 1924, in Bryan County, Oklahoma. He moved to Western Oklahoma in 1929 and has been a resident of Jackson County for 70 years. He was a farmer in the Elmer Community until 1945. He then moved to Altus where he did construction and painting. He retired in 1978.

Otis was a life long member of the Methodist Church and was a Charter Member of Grace United Methodist Church of Altus.

He was preceded in death by his mother and fthr, Joel and Lillie Mae Allen; three brothers, Troy, Floyd and Leslie Allen; three sisters, Ora Kimes, Ella Mae Trimble, and Ola Pearl Allen; and one daughter, Reta Sherman.

He is survived by his wife, Ophia, of English village, Altus, his son and daughter-in-law, James and Letha Allen, Odessa, Texas; a daughter and son-in-law, Norma and Joe Adair, Wichita Falls, Texas; a daughter, Peggy Adelmann, Smyrna, Texas; a sister, Orilla Glenn, of Altus, Oklahoma; 20 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He leaves a host of friends to remember him, including dear friends, Hattie and Dewitt Heim.

Services are entrusted to Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and are scheduled for 2pm, Monday, at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Jones officiating. Interment will follow at the Restlawn Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims.

The family will receive friends at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Sunday afternoon from 3-5:00pm., October 17, 1999.
