Obituary for Park Brooks
Park Mayo Brooks, Jr., 62, resident of Mangum, Oklahoma, passed away Monday, June 21, 2021, at his home. He was born on August 13, 1958, to parents Park M. Brooks, Sr. and Betty Jack Brooks. Park was raised and educated in Granite, Oklahoma, and graduated from Granite High School. He later went on to attend the Western Technology Center nursing program. Park was employed as an oilfield worker, a truck driver and was known as a "jack of all trades." He had the ability to learn and develop skills with incredible speed. Park married (Sissy) Mary Ellen Brooks, and he was the father of seven children: Park M. Brooks, III, Michael Tucker, William Hudspeth, Jake Hudspeth, Laura Brooks, Lillie Polk, and Michelle Tucker. Park was a firm believer in Jesus Christ and was a member of The Church Triumphant and Granite Church of Christ. When he wasn't working, Park enjoyed raising game chickens, fishing, cooking, building things, helping those in need, playing poker, playing with his grandkids. All his hobbies and interest were always centered around being with his friends and family or helping them. Park's closest friends lovingly referred to him as "Junebug." To know Park was to love him, his memory will be eternal with his friends and family.
Park is preceded in death by his parents, Park M. Brooks, Sr., Betty Jack (Hurt) Brooks, grandparents, Elwood Raymond (Hop) and Lillie Mae Brooks, Jack and Eva Hurt, his first wife Cheryl Wilbanks.
He is survived by his wife, Sissy; his children, Park Brooks III, Laura Brooks (husband Garrett), Lillie Polk (husband Hunter), Michelle Tucker, Michael Tucker, William (BJ) Hudspeth, and Jake Hudspeth (wife Ashley), four sisters- Bettie Litton (husband Clayton), Janet Hogg (husband Mike), Karen Hogg (husband Tim), and Darla Crownover (husband Wayne). Park is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, Lukas Brooks, Liam and Lila McCarty, Ashton and Quade Polk, Achaia Payne, T.J. and Abby Wiley, Kamden and Jacelynn Hudspeth, Halle and Savanna Hudspeth, and Kaden Cordova, and one great-grandchild. Park loved all of these people, as well as his extended family and numerous friends.
