Obituary for Patricia Ann Akins
Patricia Ann Akins was born June 24, 1941 in Soledad, California. She passed into her new life May 9, 2020.
Ann was a secretary/bookkeeper at Treasure City, Gipson’s and Surplus City before she retired in 1987 and got involved with Jackson County Oklahoma Home and Community Education Group where over the years she held numerous offices including president, treasurer and secretary. She loved crafting and was a skilled seamstress. She not only entered and won many ribbons in the county fair, but from time to time was a judge, when called upon. She served as a hospice volunteer, voters poll worker and JCMH hospital auxiliary volunteer. She loved her Mangum Red River Cowboy Church.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Bill J. Akins, her parents, Riley and Monnie Mae Sisk, sister, Jane Camp, sister-in-law Donna Sisk, stepson Joe Akins and step granddaughter Carrie Lenard. She is survived by her stepchildren Nancy Peace (Butch) of Edmond , Don Akins (Brenda) and children of Altus, Kathy Akins of Artesia, New Mexico, brother, Kenneth Sisk of Altus. She is also survived by step granddaughters, Sheri Hansen (Isaac) and children of Guthrie, Kacie Peace and children of Edmond, step grandson Jody Akins and children of Piedmont, Brian Archer (Kristin) and children of Cashion, nieces Janet McCorkle of Madison, Mississippi, Misty Sisk and Angela Jones and nephew Darren Sisk (Connie) all of Altus and their children, and a host of other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Tipton Children’s Home.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 14, 2020 at Altus City Cemetery, Altus, Oklahoma.
Services are under the direction of Lowell - Tims Funeral Home, Altus, Oklahoma.
