Obituary for Patricia L. Norman
Patricia “Pat†Norman, age 85, a longtime resident of Harmon County and Greer County Oklahoma, passed away Monday, May 20, 2019 at Harmon Memorial Hospital in Hollis, Oklahoma.
Pat was born on October 20, 1933 in Mangum, Oklahoma to her parents, O. Carl Simonton and Alma (Aebischer) Simonton. As a young lady the family moved to California where Pat was raised until they later moved back to Mangum at the beginning of Pat’s freshman year in high school. During her high school years Pat met the love of her life, Dr. Wade Norman. She was a proud graduate of the class of 1951 from Mangum High School and went on to attend the Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Oklahoma. On October 16, 1953 she married her high school sweetheart Dr. Wade Norman in Mangum and they enjoyed over 55 years of marriage together until Wade’s death in 2009. As a young married couple, Pat worked and helped Wade through his medical school education and after he graduated Pat became a fulltime homemaker taking care of Wade and their family. She has been a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Mangum and Hollis. Pat enjoyed her Oklahoma sports and was an avid fan of both the Oklahoma Sooners and the OKC Thunder. Pat always enjoyed a chocolate treat whenever possible. But most of all, Pat treasured family - family was her everything – and Pat loved spending all the time she could with her family, her grandchildren, her friends, and she will be greatly missed.
Preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Wade Norman; her parents; O. Carl and Alma Simonton; her daughter, Kimra Owen; her brother, O. Carl Simonton, Jr.; and her granddaughter, Tara Jo Kissinger.
