Obituary for Paul Grady Meacham
PAUL GRADY MEACHAM
Retired Lt. Colonel Paul Grady Meacham, 82, died Monday, February 20th, 2006, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Paul was born May 31, 1963, in Moody, TX, to John and Mae Meacham.
He served as a pilot in the United States Air Force from 1942 to 1967. During his military career, Paul flew numerous aircraft including the B-17, B-47, C-46, and B-52. He was stationed at Altus Air Force Base in 1960 and retired in Altus. Upon retirement, Paul opened and ran a successful real estate practice and remained active in the community. Paul served in numerous leadership capacities for the Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the Lions Club for nearly 40 years and received the Melvin Jones Fellow for Dedicated Humanitarian Services from the Lions Club International Foundation in 2007.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, and six sisters.
Paul is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Jean Meacham, of Altus. He is also survived by his four children and their spouses: Terry & Vickie Meacham of Broken Arrow, Tom and Jean Meacham of Altus, Paula and Terry York of El Reno. and Mark and Kirsta Meacham of Overland Park, KS. Paul leaves seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren
