Pearlyne Duncan, age 93, of Mangum, passed away early Tuesday morning, October 13, 2009, at Mangum Community Hospital.
Mrs. Duncan was born on September 20, 1916, in Reed, Oklahoma to James Garfield and Lillie Dee (Sampson) White. Living in the Mangum area all of her life, she had a great love for her God and family. Known for her beautiful quilting talents, she also enjoyed reading her Bible, watching TV, going to church and spending time with her family and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, H.A. Duncan; four brothers, Floyd White, Wesley White, Odell White and Leonard White; one grandson, Jimmy Dee Tollett and one granddaughter, Sherry Jones, she is survived by one daughter, Joyce Pierce of Mangum; one son, Robert Dale Jones and wife Rita of Moore; one step daughter, Shirley Carothers of Granite; one sister, Vinita Inks of Mangum; two sisters-in-law, Martha White of Wellington, Texas and Willa Mae White of California; two grandsons, Corky Tollett and wife Norma of Mangum and Bobby Jones of Oklahoma City; two step grandsons, Greg Carothers and wife Kelli of Granite and Bryan Carothers and wife Tara of Granite; four great grandchildren, Michelle Waters, Jeffery Tollett, Nancy Marie Tollett and Jason Tollett; five step great grandchildren, Jake Carothers, Jayci Carothers, Laramie Carothers, Lindsey Chambers and Liberty Chambers; one great-great granddaughter, Sarah Lee Waters; one great-great grandson, Jacob Glen Scott and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services for Pearlyne Duncan will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, October 17, 2009, at the Mangum Church of God with Pastor Martin Young and Pastor Shawn Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery under the direction of Greer Funeral Home of Mangum.
