Obituary for Pierre Gerard Pelletier
Pierre 'Pete' Pelletier, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, was involved in a tragic accident on September 12, 2024, when a pickup truck struck his motorcycle, leading to his untimely passing at the age of 66.
Pete was born on July 29, 1958, in Grand Falls, New Brunswick, Canada, to Edgar and Violet (Beaulieu) Pelletier. As a toddler, he moved to the Millinocket area of Maine, where he was raised. The picturesque landscapes of Millinocket, including the majestic Mount Katahdin, captured his heart and became an integral part of his life. His early years in this region fostered a deep appreciation for nature, animals, and a lifelong love of the outdoors. In 1985, Pete ventured south to Connecticut, embarking on a new chapter that would see him dedicate 25 years to the Connecticut State Housing Authority. His hard work and commitment were recognized and valued by all who worked with him. After retiring from the State Housing Authority, Pete found joy in working at Lowe's for an additional decade, where his friendly demeanor and strong work ethic left a lasting impression. In recent years, Pete's journey took him to Texas, and this past May, he moved to Altus, Oklahoma, to lend a helping hand on his brother David's ranch. This move was a testament to his deep familial bonds and his enduring spirit of adventure and service. Pete was a man of profound faith and unwavering generosity. He was known for his boundless kindness, always ready to lend a hand or offer support to those in need. His love for animals, the great outdoors, and Harley Davidson motorcycles were matched only by his enthusiasm for playing cribbage and tinkering with various projects. A true jack of all trades, Pete delighted in the simple pleasure of fixing things and learning new skills. Pete's passing leaves a void in the lives of many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Mario Pelletier (1993), and his sister, Michelle Peterson (2024).
He is survived by his four beloved daughters, Danielle Guay and her husband, Jamie, of Centreville, New Brunswick, Mary Pelletier and her boyfriend, David Baine, of Orrington, Maine, Ashley Pelletier and her husband, Chad Spinaci, of Grapevine, Texas, and Christine Pelletier of Las Vegas, Nevada. His legacy also lives on through his three cherished grandchildren, twins, Keegan and Kylee Pelletier (Mary's children), and Ethan Guay (Danielle's child). Pete's family also includes his sister, Sheila Brooks and her husband, Brian, of St. Stephen, New Brunswick; and his brothers, Louis Pelletier and his wife, Lynn Rush, of Millinocket, Maine, and David Pelletier and his wife, Anne, of Blair, Oklahoma. He will be fondly remembered by a host of extended family and friends who were touched by his warmth and generosity.
A celebration of Pete's remarkable life will take place on November 16, 2024, at the Northern Timber Cruisers, 10 Northern Cruise Trail, Millinocket, ME 04462, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. All who knew Pete are invited to join in this gathering to honor a life well-lived, sharing stories and memories of a man who touched so many lives with his kindness, humor, and unwavering spirit.
Local arrangements are under the care of the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory, Altus, Oklahoma.
