Obituary for Prefecto Cornado Garcia
Prefecto Cornado Garcia, 92,of Olustee, passed away Saturday, May 29, 1999 at Grace Living Center. The Rosary will be Tuesday, June 1, 1999 at 7:00 pm at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel. The Mass will be Wednesday, June 2, 1999 at 10:00 am at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church with Father Joseph Jacobi officiating. The interment will be in the Olustee Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims funeral Home.
He was born April 15, 1907 in Caderita Nuevo Leon, Mexico to the late Prefecto and
Felipa (Cornado) Garcia. he married Ygnacia Trevino on May 15,1955 in Buckeye, AZ. Prefecto was a farmer in the Jackson County area. He was a talented musician who specialized in playing the accordion. He taught his family also to play the accordion. He was the featured musician at many festivals, dances and family gatherings. He was a member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son; and one daughter and one brother.
Prefecto is survived by his wife, Ygnacia of the home; eight sons, Prefecto Garcia III, of Altus, Ok, Robert Garcia of San Antonio, TX., Roy Garcia of Phoenix, AZ, Ray Garcia of Granite, OK, Richard Garcia, Randy Garcia, Rudy Garcia and Ruben Garcia all of Olustee, OK; four daughters, Offila Cordanro of Lode, CA, Mary Lou Garcia of Dallas, TX, Josephine Smith of Altus, OK and Lillie Wolf of Omaha, NE; 40 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nices; nephews; other relatives and friends.
