Obituary for Priscilla "Sug" Spence
Priscilla Ann "Sug" (Bell) Spence, age 78, longtime resident of Headrick, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2022 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus, Oklahoma.
Priscilla (Sug) was born on September 18, 1943 in Foster, Oklahoma to her parents, Bill W. Bell and Winnie E. (Blackwood) Bell. Priscilla (Sug) grew up in rural Oklahoma. She spent most of her life as a resident of Jackson County where she was known for her Native American craftwork and as a local antique dealer. On November 18, 1960, she married Loyd Wayne Spence in Geronimo, OK and they enjoyed over 58 years of marriage together. As a young married couple, they made their home together in Mountain Park, OK where Priscilla (Sug) had attended most of her school years. They later moved to Geronimo where they started their family. There they lost their first child, Cheryl Ann Spence, hours after her birth. Later, their eldest son, Dale Roy Spence, was born there. They soon moved to Santana, Kansas. While living in Kansas, their second son, David Wayne Spence, was born. In 1974, the family moved to Headrick, OK where Loyd and Priscilla (Sug) settled to raise their two boys. The family enjoyed fishing, hunting, and other outdoor activities together with their large extended family and passed down that legacy to the next generation.
Priscilla accepted Jesus as her Savior in November of 1988. She was a member of the Headrick Baptist Church. Through the years, she enjoyed gardening, many different artistic pursuits, hunting down antiques, and cooking for both her immediate and extended family. She will be missed very much.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd Spence; her parents, Bill and Winnie Bell; her brothers: Hilton Bell and Jerry Bell; her sisters: Tootsie Trussler and Sue Clark; her infant Daughter, Cheryl; and her daughter-in-law, Diana Spence.
