Obituary for Quinten Randell Grider
Quinten Randell Grider, age 62, passed away early Saturday, April 20th, 1985, morning at his home which is located near Lake Altus.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday afternoon in the Lowell Memorial Chapel with the Reverend Don Savage of the Southside Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Veteran's section of the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Funeral Home.

Mr. Grider was born in Altus on May 24th, 1922 and served in the U.S. Navy as a communications expert during WWII. He continued his work in communications after the war as a working hobby. His physical mobility was limited due to long time ill health and extensive physical disabilities. Through his war time experience and his love for the Ham radio he was able to overcome his physical handicap and acquired an outstanding reputation as a communicator on a world-wide basis.

Survivors include: two daughters, Jamie Grider of Cleburn, TX and Jerri Grider of Burleson, TX; four brothers, Hugh Grider Jr., Cody Grider and John Grider, all of Oklahoma City, OK and Hal Grider of Altus; three sisters, Gwen Bevers and Rita Montrose of Altus and Carolyn Russell of Lowell, MS; many nieces and nephews.
