Rachel Goswick, lifelong resident of Altus, Oklahoma, left her Earthly home to join the arms of the Lord on January 14th, 2024 at the age of fifty-four.
Rachel was born May 15th, 1969 to Pablo Abila and Elizabeth (Lopez) Abila in Altus, Oklahoma where she was raised and educated. Rachel graduated from Altus high school in 1993. After finishing up her schooling, she lived in a few different places such as St. Louis, Missouri, Saginaw, Michigan, Amarillo, Texas, before coming back to her roots in Altus, Oklahoma. Over the years she worked different jobs including being employed at Denny's, Stripes, and Waffle House. Here the found her love of cooking for others. Rachel loved feeding people. She was an amazing and talented cook that made the best Mexican food. She could make always find a way to make something out of nothing. Rachel loved others, she had a heart of gold that she shared with those around her. She was a loving neighbor that was always ready to help. Rachel was a member of the First Baptist Church of Altus, she loved the Lord and his good word. Most of all, she loved her family. Her grandchildren were here pride and joy. She would often cook for them and spend countless hours with each of them. Rachel was sure to show her children and grandchildren how much she loved them no matter what. She will be greatly missed by her family and her community.
Rachel is preceded in death by her parents Pablo and Elizabeth Abila and brother Armando Abila.
Left to honor her memory include her children, Kristian Barrientos and Danielle Cuellar; brothers, Adolph Abila and wife Cecelia, Paul Abila and wife Scarlet, and Reuben Abila; sisters, Paulette Abila Hernandez and husband Julian, Josie Hernandez, Nelda Castellano; grandchildren James Cuelllar, Isabella Perez, and Julio Daniel Barrientos; as well as other family members and friends.
