Obituary for Ralph Willard Phillips
Ralph Willard Phillips, long time businessman and resident of Olustee, died Tuesday, May 16th, 1989, morning at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Services have been set for Friday morning at 10:00 A.M. from the First United Methodist Church in Olustee, officiated by The Reverend Don Johnson. Burial will be in Olustee Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Funeral Home.
Born May 24th, 1895 at Vin, Arkansas. He was the son of Francis and Catherine Phillips. He married Corrie Lee Leonard August 3, 1921 at Olustee. He was a veteran of WWI, serving in France with the Army Medical Corps. After the war, Phillips operated a grocery store in Olustee for over 50 years. He was a member of the American Legion, 50-year Mason, member of the United Methodist Men, and a member of the Olustee First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Phillips preceded him in death August 19, 1975.
Survivors include: one daughter, Marie Kincannon of Altus, OK; three grandchildren, Gary Kincannon of Altus, Beverly Leonard of Clinton, OK and Phyllis Noble of Santa Barbara, CA; also a number of nieces and nephews.
