Obituary for Ramiro Solis
Ramiro Solis, a long-time resident of Altus, peacefully passed away on July 8, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family. He was 44 years old at the time of his transition.
Ramiro was born on April 15, 1978 in Raymondville , Texas to his parents, Otoniel Solis and Zenaida Solis (Padron). He was raised and educated in Oklahoma. Ramiro attended the VoTech Center where he completed their aviation program. He married the love of his life, Candace Childs in Altus, OK on May 4, 2012. The happy couple began their life together in town but moved out to the country to remodel Ramiro's dream home.
During his working career, Ramiro was employed as an aircraft maintenance supervisor. He started out as a " grow your own" mechanic and quickly moved up in leadership eventually becoming a supervisor. Ramiro was instrumental in laying the groundwork for the KC-46 aircraft maintenance programs at Altus Air Force Base. He dedicated twenty-two years of faithful service.
Outside of work, Ramiro loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed playing softball with his children and loved spending time in the barn helping his kids with their show steers. He also liked traveling with his wife and seeing the world. When he wasn't busy with softball games or livestock shows, he could be found exploring a new restaurant with his wife.
Ramiro was a friend to anyone and everyone he met. There wasn't anything that he couldn't fix or do and he was always willing to lend a helping hand. Ramiro believed in the awesome power of prayer and attended the Freedom Church in Altus. His kindness, generosity, and deep love for his family will never be forgotten, for he gave so much and asked for so little.
Ramiro was one of the "Good Ones".
Welcoming Ramiro into heaven's gates are his mother, Zenaida Solis, and his grandparents, Ernesto & Josefa Padron.
Remaining to honor his everlasting memory is his wife of ten years, Candace Solis; his two beautiful daughters: Emry Solis & Ellie Solis; his father, Otoniel Solis; his two brothers: Otoniel Solis Jr. and Edwardo Solis Sr., and his wife, Ezra; his sisters: Josefina Solis, Margarita Solis, Maria Solis, Lourdes Herrera and husband, Jason; his parents-in-law: Jimmy & Susan Childs; sisters-in-law: Caylee Childs & Holly Watkins and husband, Jay; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives, co-workers, friends, and church family.
