Randy Wayne Nagel, 59, of Granite, passed away Friday morning, April 7, 2017, at his residence, in Granite.
Mr. Nagel was born in Altus on March 11, 1958 to Patricia A. (Bolton) Cummins and was later adopted by R.A. Nagel, who loved him as his very own son. Randy began school, in Altus, and at age ten, the family moved to Iowa for seven years. In 1976, the family returned to Granite where Randy lived until his untimely death. Through his school years and later in life, Randy was a hard worker, having jobs delivering the Daily Oklahoman, working at Smith"s Grocery, McPheeter"s Caf", going on harvest with the Dale Caid family for five years, (which was some of the most enjoyable times of his teen years), Locklear"s Roofing for eleven years, farming for the John Coffman Family and working at the Oklahoma State Reformatory for twenty years, retiring in 2011.
Preceded in death by his father, R.A. Nagel, Randy is survived by his mother, Pat Nagel, of Granite; one sister, Anissa Green and husband Bill of Lone Wolf; three brothers, Britt Nagel and wife Mollie of Hobart, Mark Nagel and wife Shelly of Stratford, Iowa and Aaron Nagel of Granite; four nieces, Elizabeth, Marah, Jordan and Emilie; one nephew, Jared; two aunts, Lynn Biddy of Altus and Judy Patten of Mangum along with many other friends and relatives.
The family will greet friends at visitation from 6:30 pm until 8:30 pm, Sunday, April 9, 2017 at Greer Funeral Home in Granite.
Graveside Celebration of Life services will be at 2:00 pm, Monday, April 10, 2017 at the Granite City Cemetery in Granite with honors rendered by the Oklahoma State Department of Corrections and Rev. Ben VanVacter officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Greer Funeral Home, of Granite.
