Raymond Parks
Raymond M. Parks was born March 29, 1928 in Olustee, Oklahoma. He died August 19, 1993 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. He married Dorothy Sledge December 20, 1947 in Altus, Oklahoma. He was a life long resident of Jackson county.
He served in the US Army during World war II. He retired form Civil service where he served at the Altus Air Force Base over 24 years. He was a Mason, Baptist, member of W.O.W. the D.A.V. and the American Legion.
Services are scheduled for 11 am Monday at the Lowell-Tims Chapel with Sonny Tims officiating. Interment will be in the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
Raymond is survived by his mother, Mamie Lindsey of Princeton, Texas; wife, Dorothy Parks of Altus, Oklahoma; children, Judy Cope and husband Darryl, of Houston, Texas; Janet Smith and husband Ron, of Dayton, Ohio; Jean Williams and husband Tommy, of Claremore, Oklahoma; brother, Alvin Parks of Princeton, Texas; sister, Ruby Skinner of Pinetop, Arziona; six grandchildren, Wesley Cope, Destry Cope, Ryan Smith, Justin Smith, Jamie Smith and Kelly Williams.
Raymond was preceded in death by grandson, Joshua Thomas Williams, two brothers Jerrel Parks and Robert Parks, father, Robert Earnest Parks.
