Obituary for Rice Emmett Kimbrough
Mr. R. Emmett Kimbrough, age 77, pioneer resident and long time businessman of Altus died Sunday afternoon at Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City following a stroke suffered hours earlier.

Funeral services have been announced for 2:00 P.M., Tuesday at Lowell Memorial Chapel with Reverend Lonzo Battles officiating. Burial will be in Altus City Cemetery under direction of Lowell Funeral Home.

Born September 10th, 1892 in Parker County, Texas, Mr. Kimbrough, upon coming to this area was, for years, associated with the Lawrence-Kimbrough wholesale grocer business in Altus. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a Mason. He and Mrs. Kimbrough had just recently moved to Oklahoma City due to failing health.

Survivors include: his wife, Mary Ethel, of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Lahoma Culwell of Oklahoma City and Mrs. Dorothy Garner of Greely, CO; one brother, Mr. Les Kimbrough of Altus; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
