Obituary for Richard Allen Redman
Richard A. Redman, 78, Altus, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at his home.
Richard was born on November 3, 1947, in Watseka, Illinois to Orie Lee and Mae (Meierle) Redman. He grew up in Watseka and graduated from high school with the Class of 1966. Richard served his country for three years in US Army. He married Vickie St. Germain in Watseka, Illinois on November 22, 1968. After his discharge from the Army, Richard enrolled in the Chicago Technical College where he earned his bachelor's degree in architectural engineering. He then went to work for civil service as an architectural engineer in Indianapolis, IN, Tucson, AZ, Germany, and Altus. Richard retired from civil service as a supervisor after more than 20 years. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Amethyst Osborn; and three siblings, Orie Redman, Jr., Frank Redman, and George Redman.
Survivors include his wife, Vickie, of the home; two daughters, Teresa Redman and Crystal Osborn and husband, Brad; two grandsons, Andrew Downs and Patrick Osborn; two sisters, Dorothy Doran and Catherine Aper; and several other family members and friends.
