Obituary for Richard Brandon Allen
Richard Allen, age 78, a lifelong resident of Altus, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2008 in Altus.

Richard was born in Ballenger, Texas on April 4, 1930 to Jasper and Bertha (Turner) Allen. On May 16, 1954 Richard married Genevieve "Petey" Smith in Amarillo, Texas and they were married for over 53 years. Richard was a Truck Driver and spent most of his time working. He enjoyed traveling with Petey and they traveled all over the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Richard was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend and he will be missed very much.

Preceding Richard in death were his parents, Jasper and Bertha Allen; two brothers, Billy Yocham; Floyd Allen; two sisters, Faye Perdue; and Lola Hazelwood.

Richard is survived by his wife, Genevieve "Petey" of the home; five children, Louise Briscoe and her husband Dean of Arkansas; Vicky Williford and husband Tony Don of Hillsboro, Texas; Jack Allen and his wife Lena of Blum, Texas; Richard B. Allen, Tuttle, Oklahoma; Connie Allen of Hillsboro, Texas; two brothers, Robert Yocham of Blair; Monroe Allen of Altus; one sister, Mary Norris of Defuniak Springs, Florida; twelve grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, many other relatives and friends.

Graveside services for Richard Allen will be at 10:00 am, Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at Restlawn Cemetery in Altus with Reverend John Johnson officiating. Under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
